Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library is the National Organization that supports public libraries throughout the country. All 3 dpls locations have an active chapter of the Friends of the Library. Click the link to get specific information on membership opportunities and upcoming events.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are available at all locations of dpls. Please contact your location for specific opportunities. Defiance Public Library opportunities are also listed with the Volunteer Connection of Northwest Ohio.
Monetary Support
Monetary support and donations are accepted through the Friends of the Library. Please click the Friends link above to see specific contact information.
Gift or Memoriam Donation
Donations of money toward the purchase of library materials can be accepted in your name or in the name of an individual. Materials will be purchased according to your preferences in subject and cost. A commemorative plaque is placed on the material and a notification is sent to the honoree if you so choose. To donate a gift or memoriam, please contact the Defiance Public Library at 419-782-1456.
Used Book Donations
Donations of gently used materials are always accepted by dpls libraries. These materials can include books, magazines, CDs, tapes, videocassettes, DVDs, and audiobooks. Donations may be added to collections or used for Friends of the Library book sales. Contributions may be dropped off during open hours at any dpls location.
