The Defiance County libraries will welcome several visitors in the coming weeks to present an assortment of fun, free, and educational programs. Join us for one of these special events:
Defiance Public Library
July 15 – 6PM – Toledo Children’s Theater Workshop Presents: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Free & open to all. No registration needed. This program takes place in the Summer Reading Tent on the Fort Grounds.
July 18 – 5PM – Author Visit & Book Signing: Mindy McGinnis. McGinnis will discuss and sign her new book, Under This Red Rock. Ages 13+. No registration is needed.
July 20 – 11AM – Adventure Archives. YouTubers Robby, Andrew, Bryan, and Thomas will tell us tales of their many global adventures. Adults 18+. No registration is needed.
July 22 – 6PM – Roz Puppets Presents: The Mystery of Cacklewood Forest. Join us in the Summer Reading Tent on the Fort Grounds for this original puppet show. Open to all ages. No registration is needed.
July 25 – Retirement and Estate Planning with Postema Insurance & Investments. Postema will offer more free informational sessions in the Reading Room and Defiance Public Library, including ‘Retirement You Can’t Outlive’ at 10:30AM and Estate Planning at 5PM. Bring your questions! Open to all adults. No registration is needed.
August 3 – 11AM – Bigfoot in Ohio. The Southeastern Ohio Bigfoot Society will visit the DPL Reading Room to share stories of their many investigations. Open to all ages. No registration is needed.
August 15 – 5:30-6:30PM – Breastfeeding 101. Melinda Kuhlman, Defiance County WIC Director, will share tips to improve the breastfeeding experience for both mom and baby. Open to all adults. No registration is needed.
Sherwood Branch Library
July 17 – 1PM – Explore Lily Creek Farms. Meet some of the animal pals who call Lily Creek Farms home. Open to all ages. No registration needed.
July 18 – 1PM – Salamander Stunts. Wendy Baker from the Defiance Soil and Water Conservation district will stop by the library to teach us the salamander migration game and help us make our own salamanders to take home, while supplies last. Geared to school-aged children. No registration is needed.
