Teen & Adult Challenge (Ages 12+)
Log the minutes you read each day on Beanstack. For every 60 minutes you read, you will be entered into a weekly prize drawing for a $5 gift card to a local coffee or ice cream shop. If you log at least 480 minutes/8 hours of reading this summer, you will be entered into the grand prize drawing for a $40 Meijer gift card and two $5 gift cards to a local coffee or ice cream shop of your choice. Everyone who registers will receive a free drink coupon from Biggby Coffee, and all who complete the challenge will receive a coupon for free CinnaSquares from Marco’s Pizza. Coupons must be picked up at the library, and are available while supplies last.
Kids Challenge (Birth to 6th grade)
Children from birth to 6th grade can participate either by logging their reading on Beanstack, or by using the paper reading/activity log available for download here and for pickup at any DPLS location (Defiance, Sherwood, Hicksville).
Registration rewards for children 3+: A ballchain necklace and brag tag, beads, select coupons, and a book to get you started.
Registration rewards for children under 3: A baby link, select coupons, and a book to get you started.
*Please note, registration rewards can ONLY be picked up at your home library location.
Completion prizes: Participants of all ages who complete the Challenge will be entered into our Grand Prize Drawing for tickets to King’s Island! There will be a ticket winner at each library location. Other completion rewards include additional baby links (for children under 3), and additional charms and beads (for children age 3+).
Completion prizes can be picked up at any DPLS library location. Registration and completion rewards are available while supplies last. Delays in registering and/or redeeming logs may occur due to staffing. Limit one log per day per patron can be claimed.
