Ohio Historic Marker Approved for Worthington Cemetery!

See that rise there? See that area that does not have soybeans planted in it? That is about where Worthington Cemetery is located.

Thank you to the farmer who left this area unplanted this year. We were notified last week that our application for an Ohio historic marker for Worthington Cemetery has been APPROVED! This part of our local history will be marked and remembered. Those buried there, although not known by name, will be remembered as living, working and being part of a community in this rural area. Archibald Worthington will be known for dedicating a part of his land to hold these individuals in dignity and restful peace.

Our community came together for a great purpose and I know will continue to volunteer time and efforts for projects like this.

  1. Congratulations on getting the historic marker approved! It’s inspiring to see the community come together to honor and preserve this piece of local history. Even without known names, remembering those who lived and were laid to rest there gives the site real meaning. And a big shoutout to the farmer for respecting the land—small acts like that make a big difference. Looking forward to seeing the marker in place!
